My lighter doesn't work on my car. I have taken the dash apart to see if it was disconnected but it's connected. I checked the fuse and it's fine. It isn't the lighter itself but the plug has no current. any ideas?

I mainly need it for my gps and phone charger as I enjoy road trips. Could I possibly tap into another "hot" source?
