both words/names end with "s". regardless of whether the word is being used as an adjective or possessive, the name/word has an "s" at the end, and so it should have an "s" at the end whichever way its used. only exception would be if it is one of those atypical words that change the second half of its spelling when being used as a plural and/or possessive.

name: Lakers
possessive: Lakers'
plural: Lakers

lets say "Lakers" was the name of a company. you would be an employee of Lakers. "i am a Lakers employee."
lets say "Lexus" was the name of the company. you would be an employee of Lexus. "i am a Lexus employee."
lets say "Mercedes" was the name of a company. "i am a Mercedes employee."

at no point do you drop the "s". if its plural, its spelled the same. if its an adjective, its spelled the same. if its possessive, you add an apostrophe at the end. thats it.

and yes i now i left out plenty of apostrophes in this reply.
