A couple hobo stories from my visit to Chicago a couple months ago:

1) I was walking down the street and some guy asked for 80 cents, as if he has something specific he wanted to buy. I gave him a quarter and went inside. About 5 minutes later I came back out and walked by him again and he asked for 80 cents again.

2) One guy asked me for change and I didn't have any (I generally don't give any even if I have some). He apparently took offense to that because I was wearing a nice suede jacket and if I was dressed that well, I must have change. So he followed me for three blocks ranting about how "if you don't have any money looking like that, you might as well shoot yourself."

There are plenty of hobos in Boulder, but they leave you alone for the most part.

lol, I was running at night a couple weeks ago and ran past this couple sitting under a street lamp... looked like they were arguing/having a serious conversation. As I ran past, the chick stopped mid-sentence to shout, "way to go man! You can do it!" I just waved back and smiled.... I got a big kick out of that
