All of the distributors like to break, upgrading to OBD1 won't decrease that tendency.

Get a ZDyne and use your stock oxygen sensor, do the standard "one wire" VTEC hookup. You may want to look into their Super ECU, it is pricey but you'll be able to actually tune your motor rather than run what basically amounts to a stock B16A program.
