The stock pads seem to suck, whether that's an issue w/ the company that produces the pads or something w/ the cars themselves, I don't know.

I mean even on the older cars the pads weren't the greatest in at least some cases, but they did tend to be quiet and wouldn't mess up the rotors.
Lately though the pads seem to have gotten worse, an ex. being when C&D tested a stock S2000 CR (which, other than the pads, has an excellent braking system) and ended up glazing them after only a few hot laps. It seems especially unforgivable since it was the CR, which imo should come with higher-performance pads than the regular s2k.
