i recently replaced my head gasket on my 91 CRX with a d15b2. I had to remove the intake manifold, but i just took the nuts off the head and pushed it back. the same thing can be done with the exhaust manifold, and the distributor. i would recommend doing your timing belt at the same time, as its easier to get to with the side of the engine with the head off.
you should buy a "head set" from the parts store (I recommend a Honda dealership for a head gasket) along with a timing belt, tensioner, and water pump.
when you do a head gasket, you should ALWAYS have it resurfaced by a machine shop. around here (southern cali) it costs about 50 bucks to get a head resurfaced and hot tanked. its very worth it, and will save you money in the long run.
p.s. i don't have much experience with the ZC head conversion.
