The rotary valve in the idle control valve probably is carboned/gummed up a bit. You can clean it and put it back into service. If you Google "honda idle air valve cleaning" you'll see whole bunch of directions with pictures on how to do this.

so here goes. 2003 Accord 3.0 V-6, check eng light came on, autozone said it's p0506, Low Idle Sensor? I found what appears to be the sensor/control unit ontop of the engine w/ vaccum hoses and a plug on it. After messing w/ the vaccum lines, I reset the system by disconnecting batt in hopes it wouldn't come back on, worked for over a week, today while idleing w/ the A/C on, it came back on. Anyone know for sure where the idle position sensor is? I'm not too worried, but would like to fix the problem and keep the check eng light off. Thanks for any help!
