Yes, I've thought about it many times. If insurance covered it (or if it were cheap), I probably would've done it already.

I have several reasons:

1) Overpopulation is the core of just about every social, humanitarian and environmental problem we face, and it's only going to get worse in the coming decades.
2) There are kids out there with no family in genuine need of parents. I'd feel much better about adopting than baby-making.
3) I have less-than-stellar genes. I was born with a heart defect that nearly killed me, I have an addictive personality, history of depression, etc.
4) No babies = more money/earlier retirement for me h:
