Typically, the kits have a distribution block that is connected to the negative terminal of the battery. The various components that are usually grounded to the chassis are then grounded directly to the distribution block. The kit in the link I posted seems to ground everything back to the battery. You're basically grounding everything more directly, instead of grounding it thru the chassis.
