you blew out the driver's side multiplexer it's a common problem and what happens when you short out those dimmer wires they are orange and orange/white if one of those hit the ground kiss your multiplexer goodby as it's a solid state dimmer and cannot handle very much current that why the odometer and clock lights work fine with the lights off but when you switch on the parking lights it commands them to dim that when they black out...just remember if trying to get a used one they have to be from the a 98-99 Ex and 2 or 4 door matters too.
