I wouldnt change the multiplex just yet. Start with the small stuff first. As mentioned earlier, disconnect the illum. wires and tape them off. Doublecheck fuses and replace the fuses w/known good ones. Next step would be to change the dimmer switch, THEN think about replacing the multiplex unit.
