Default 2002 Accord automatic downshift problems

2002 Accord EX 114,000 automatic, the transmission shifts perfect while accelerating, and even when coming to a stop, however it will not shift into first gear until you come to a complete stop. I checked the fluid, checked for any codes via OBD II. I have done some research, and did not get any hits for this problem (many many hits for bad transmissions....) I hope it's one of the solenoids, however I thought that someone may have run into this problem with information that could save me some time and money.

I can manually shift the transmission into first before coming to a stop, full throttle for a dead stop, and no slipping of transmission, no burned fluid smell, however I plan to change out the fluid, may do a 2-3 drain/fill (when I can make it to the Honda dealership for the fluid).

Any help will be appreciated.
