Loisglow, there exists that on both sides of the spectrum. The reason why you have not heard democrats commend republicans on the other side of the aisle is because of the situation they were in for 6 years being the minority. They were threatened changes to filibuster rules in the event they even threatened to filibuster, a move granted, I don't agree with on both sides (would rather people talk instead of threatening to filibuster or change rules to filibusters) but they were the minority and as such, still needed their voices heard in some way. In addition I hate partisan politics as much as the next person, I've been all about compromise from the start, as long as people's voices and opinions are heard and taken into account I think we should be fine. That's what politics SHOULD be about, not exactly getting your way but at least being able to be heard and have your opinion taken into account to move on to a JOINT solution.
