The gf and I are going to move in once her lease is up at the end of May. Right now I live with a couple friends in a house in suburbia. She really wants to be downtown and I'm certainly not opposed; I lived down there while I was in school and for a while after but couldn't justify the continued expense of my 1-bedroom apartment so I moved to my current place.
The place we found is a 2 bed, 2 bath, + den apartment, prob 1300 sq ft or so. It's 2 levels inside. Downstairs is the kitchen, dining area, living room, 1 bed & 1 bath. You go upstairs to a half-enclosed loft "study/den" and the master bedroom, plus other bath. Kinda weird angled ceiling for the lofted section. Basically it's a square chunk of the building and the whole lower level exterior wall shared by the living and dining rooms is like 25 feet of side-by-side sliding glass doors that go out to a full-width balcony that faces Lake Monona.
Map is
here. Look to the East of the corner of Wilson & Hancock, it's that building with the kinda sloped roof towards the top. To give you an idea of all the crap to do around there, check out its
WalkScore and
Yelp.
Now, it ain't gonna do anything about the shit winters, or the fact that my office is in bumfuck Waunakee, but it sure will help distract me from those problems a little bit.......
