I'm going with how do you copyright music? There are only so many sequences of notes that sound pleasing and up until a point you may reach that point and by chance you could mimic someone else's work. I'm giving Coldplay the benefit of the doubt here seeing as my GF's best friend is a musician and stated, "it gets to the point where everything sounds the same or close to it." I kind of agree, not a lot of music is EXTREMELY unique.
