depends where you go dude... you just have to be carefull a bit. Like if you want to do a safari in Kenya you're gonna be fine. If you go out in Nairobi downtown and get lost you'll probably get robbed. You can't just explore like that. But again thats in Nairobi. In S-A it's usually safer for tourists. Specially witht he up coming World Cup.
