I have had too many bad experience with the hardware Samsung phones.
The palm is rock solid. you can abuse it with no worries.
I'm on my second Palm700p. But I've been using one since the beginning of '04. No moving parts, it's a tank with a QWERTY. It was the touchscreen that beat the touchscreen craze by 3 years, and Palm OS is 99% less annoying than Windows... plus it can sync with Windows or Mac OS clients if that matters.
Just beware the Verizon blocks all bluetooth functionality with the exception of wireless earpieces.
