OK i have the real answer... NO its NOT illegal (in new jersey) to have it on and hooked up, IN FACT i have a state issued permitt to have it in my car... the only thing i can't LEGALLY do is arm it, the law about stuff like that is it has to ALTER the vehicles performance... so opened NOT armed is NOT illegal in new jersey.. it also falls under MOT (materials of trade) exemption, which allows for basic NON comercial transport of propane oxygen , and other compressed gasses..... No extra driving endorsments are required, JUST the state issued permitt to possess it...
now as far as pressure in the lines and all that.. NO it has NO baring... nitrous on a normal not hot day will bump lik 6-800 PSI.. these are NOT even operating pressure.. you would need to aditionaly heat the bottle to get it around 900 psi, for BEST performance.. so i also have an electonic heater on mine....
nitrous oxide is NEVER flamable.. not even when mixed with fuel... its an oxidizer.. the way it created power is by ACCELERATING the burning process... by adding more oxygen to the mix
Hope this helps clear up any myths...
