what does the pads wearing out at the same time have anything to do with having same brands??

whichever end wears out quicker has no relevance to brand. also, however people want to set up their brake pads is fine. i'm not saying it's a rule. i'm just giving a recommendation.

example: if you want to put michelin pilot sport on your left front wheel, yokohama parada on your right front wheel, dunlop w-10 on your left rear wheel, and goodyear aquatread on your right rear wheel, it's your car, do as you wish.. you'll still be able to get to your destination.. but i would prefer to have the same tire on all 4 wheels..

...and no, even with the same tires, they don't wear evenly...
