I agree especially since I always hated the Cinderella type movies they used to annoy us with

I also respect your opinion in this field because it is what you do, but I think there may be the chance you are falling into the "detachment from the audience" area and may be looking at what appeals to you as a person with 20+ years watching and "x"years studying cartoons. Maybe once in a while we need to take a kid to see the movie in order to understand them and what they see by discussing it afterwards. An adult audience will have a totally different view on the same film, and it isn't a film for them to begin with they are just a collateral market.
