in MA sopme gay couples have more rights then heterosexual couples. i guess they do not call them marriage, but civil unions. so two gays can now get benefits of the others insurance. in MA if a male and female live together for more then x years they are considered in a civil union, but they do not get to share the health benefits of one person.

so there are always 2 sides to this.
