The topic is that, in real life, Obama's economic plan benefits him. And assuming he was making 270+K per year, Obama's tax plan would have helped him reach that point quicker. To regear the taxes requires sometimes a shift, and decision must be made somewhere on what new rates will be affected.

And this is a progressive tax: Up until the 250K he would theoretically net the same, and the additional 3.9% would only be on the last 20K or so of his income.

Oh, and Joe the Plumber has terrible financial sense. If the business gross was 270K, then the deductions and expenses would mean Obama's tax plan would give him a cut. If his business was netting him 270K per year after expenses, salaries, and deductions, then he would be probably one of the more profitable small business owners in the nation.

A whole army of economists have approved of Obama's tax plan as well, and Obama's tax plan would benefit myself and most everyone in my family, so economically it's a logical choice.
