Whenever a company wants to save money, their first penny pinching measure is to cut back on supplies. Even the "going green" initiative is destroying copy paper and printer toner profits (about 50% of all incoming monies are from those departments). Customers aren't just ordering as much as they used to. This is really tearing into Staples profits.

Also, Staples charges a premium on most supplies. It's hard to compete against the EDLP (everyday low price) of Wal-Mart.

There's a terrific opening with RIM, the OS developers of Blackberry. I'd love to get in on that because the experience would be worth so much.
