Marine Corps isn't very big...hence the Few And The Proud. They don't really force deployments either, they deploy on a Volunteer Basis. I'm in the Army Reserves and am pretty content. Part of me wishes I were Active Duty...but part of me is glad I'm not. I can still get deployed like Active, I just don't work full time. If it were me, and you're thinking Reserves of ANYTHING...I'd go Army. To me, there's no point in be a Reservist Marine. I get shit talked to me all the time for doing Army Reserves...I'd hate to see what a part-time Marine would get. So if you want to go Full Active Duty...sure, go Marines. If not, I'd go Army. But either way, get your 4 year Degree first and go in as an Officer. Or go Enlisted for a few years, then go Officer. You'll get more experience and depending on what Rank you are when you go Officer, you can get more money. Just my $.02
