no the pins dont hold down the hood...the latch does that...it prevents the hood from flying off and opening up, if the latch fails or pops off...ive had my c/f hood for about 4 months..and it latches on very nicely...hasnt popped open on those 100+ mile runs, but i would like to get some in the future, only if they come in black.
why dont you just get a pair and have them powder coated.
