First the car comes stock with 16x6.5 +55 Offset rims and 205/50VR16 tires. You say that you have 17" but do not mention width, offset or tire size.
If you have rub and the Offset is under +45 and the car is lowered, which I assume it is not-except for the passenger weight-then you need to look at the tire sidewall near the tread-there may be a line on there. That line is being cut by a tiny piece of the bumper cover.
This piece of plastic is located near the retaining bolt where the cover meets the metal part of the lip. You can feel this small thing and removal only requires a small file or dremel tool to carefully cut it away. It is about 1/4" by 3/4" in size and if done right no one will ever know . THis is true for both REAR wheelwells.
