I don't think so. There's another oil pressure sensor right next to the VTEC solenoid - that's the VTEC oil pressure sensor. It's totally different from the idiot light sensor. It's just a latch as mensioned above.
I totally missed the steel braiding part...
I'll do that. Know where I can get that tubing?
