I thought they had some clear stuff that you could apply... maybe a spray, dunno, that protected but didn't make it look all special. Oh well.

For being all taped up, and obviously so, it looks fairly good I guess. Now you don't have to worry about tailgating semis and shit if you plan on doing that.

I've never had a really nice, newer car, but I might consider applying stuff to the hood edge, but not the bumper since it's plastic - who cares if it gets a few chips, at least it won't rust.

edit: actually, that hood looks better w/ the addition of the tap imo. I think your tape looks slightly better than my actual paint h:
