No you cannot sand blast it. You can have it blasted with a plastic media blaster. It shoots plastic instead of sand and is good for removing paint from plastic. Or you can purchase a DA sander and sand it off yourself. Its not necessary to remove the paint unless its chipping, cracking, etc. If the paint looks ok you just need to wet sand it with 600 grit paper.
