Ug, another global warming thread. Doesn't this belong in the on topic forum?

There's no doubt that the global warming pop-culture is out of hand but hey, it can't hurt to use less fuel and resources. The small amount of hippy in me tries to see the silver lining behind all the global warming hype in that at least we're trying to go more "green" as a society.

But yes, I agree that there is more interest in money than the environment when it comes to global warming. Every major corporation is "going green" now, and it obviously has more to do with image than true interest in the environment. And guys like Al Gore, honestly, do you think Al Gore has gone though all the effort and time because he cares about the environment? I'm sure he cares for it, as much as the next American, but I doubt it's much more than that. It's all about the benjamins.

So yes, use less fuel and resourses and try to recycle. Carpool a bit or consolidate your trips. But don't go out and trade in your Accord for a Prius so you can get an extra 10mpg. That's a friggin crock.
