I need to know what kind of transmission I have, the car is a 2 door 2000 honda civic EX 5 speed manual, pw,ps,a/c,power brakes with abs, the engine D16Y8, i need to know if the transmission is an s40 or s4c or sg8, if im not mistaken the s4c i think bolts up to the b16a2, i need to know because im about to have to pull it and rebuild it, also if anyone could give me some help it would be much appreciated, i need to know if there is a rebuild page with instructions for the transmission i have because i would care not to go at it blindly, the problem with the transmission, the first clutch upon going out locked the transmission up and the front in jumped around barked the tires and i finally got it coasted in to the parking space, removed and replaced the clutch assembly, the second clutch went out with the pilot bearing exploding, removed and replaced the clutch assembly again but on the first the flywheel was turned therefor making the front in jerk when taking off, now the transmission is somewhat hard to get into first and kinda difficult to get into reverse, upon driving the car runs find when the throttle is pressed but when the throttle is released the car makes a irritating grinding noise, transmission guy at works said it sounds like a mainshaft bearing or a busted syncronizer maybe combination of both with some burred gears. Please help me.
