as to the age requirements i disagree. competition at this level is so stressful on a person i honestly wouldnt feel comfortable having a 12 year old competing at this level. they arent mentally prepared for it. they may physically be capable but the amount of mental pressure and the level of professionalism just is too great imo for someone that young to be competing. competing in the olympics requires year round daily training and a personal commitment. i relaly dont think a 12 year old can or should be making that sort of commitment,
Dude its only recent that they imposed an age requirement for gymnastics. and they're plenty of olympic competition that dont have the same requirements. Who are you(or we) to deside what is an appropriate age to cope with the stress of the olympics. if they were not able to cope with it they would fail misirably.
