So, aside from plastic clips, which I know about from other cars, the panel did not come out without breaking something. Read this: there are two screws to take out, one on the "pull the door toward you" cup-like thing, and the other one behind the "open the door" handle itself. Well, after you unscrew the screws, just "pulling hard" on the panel will break the plastic tabs on the plastic door handle assembly. After breaking the tabs and looking inside, I found that you must simple SLIDE the plastic door handle assembly forward about a quarter of an inch to free the tabs. DO NOT just pull the assembly and the panel. When you get it off you will see what I mean. So, to take the rear door panel off an Honda Civic 1995, do the following:
1. pry or pull the panel off from the bottom
2. unscrew 2 screws, one in the pull and one in the handle itself.
3. slide the handle assembly forward 1/4 to 1/2 inch forward and pull it out.
4..lift the panel off the door and pull outward.
