Default 92 Prelude AC Cutoff Question

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post, so please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong area!

I own a 1992 Prelude w/ 133k miles. Up to now, the AC worked perfectly (with the original R-12 refrigerant) I moved here from Denver to Tulsa, and now the AC works only part of the time. In the morning when ambient temp is lower than 90 degrees, it blows ice cold. But when the temperature is higher than that, it only partially gets cold. I've had the charge checked out, and it's fully charged with no leaks. The compressor engages, but it sounds like a low-pressure cutoff switch maybe? If I'm driving and the AC cuts out, I can turn the AC button on and off several times, then it "tricks" it into cooling, if only for awhile. Any tips on diagnosing this? I've got plenty of mechanical knowledge as far as drivetrain goes, but AC issues have me buffaloed!

Thanks!

-Jeff
