When I got 40-50mpg on my 91 Civic Si I was coming home from State College (all highway), pumped up my air pressures to 40psi and only had my tool box and tub with autocross gear in it. Car had no a/c, racing seats, cat back exhaust, 00 Civic Si cold air intake, header, pulleys, and racing suspension. I kept my speed around 65-70mph the whole way.
My windows were open the whole way too since I had no a/c and it wad fricking hot that day.
