The SC had it's place in time- I think that the appeal was always shallowly laid in the hard-top design which has obviously been watered down over time due to overwhelming competition. I mean even VW has one now-

As for the Avalon- it's about as ancient as the people who tend to buy it. I think most of them would be perfectly content with an extended Camry

Overall I think these lean-cuts are worth it vs. ending up with a Ford or GM model listing of a million overlapping cars
