Default I'm a victim too!

My compressor finally gave out on me after 82k miles. Damn! I noticed it when I went to recharge the system when I noticed that it wasn't blowing cold air anymore. After going though just about the whole can I didn't notice a change in the temp. I look down and see a big puddle. The refrigerant was leaking right out of the compressor. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a big chunk off the actual compressor housing missing. Kind of like it literally just blew up! I've owned several hondas and worked on many and have yet to come across this. Many of my mechanic friends couldn't believe it either. So what to do. I am not going to pay for a brand new compressor. I'm thinking about getting rid of the car in about a year or two so I'm just gonna be patient and find a used one. Of all the times it had to happen...summer time in nothern va. ARRRRGGHHH!
