It's pretty lame to hate on a kid for making a catchy hit and gettin' paid. Was Soulja Boy out to ruin hip-hop? No. Should it even be considered hip hop? No. It's pop-hop. That's it.
Ask any kid if they'd rather make a few million on a catchy hit or make a solid piece of hip-hop that nobody will ever get to hear because it's not radio friendly, and I think you'll have a unanimous answer.
