Everyone on this site OBSESSES with the fact that HID systems MUST be projector. This is wrong.
There ARE cars that do use HID Reflector systems, although technically they are made for HID light output.
Namely:
Acura TL (older models, 99-00 etc)
Cadillac Escalade
Infiniti QX4
Etc.
Why not compare the light output of one of the cars listed with the light output from a DIY reflector-HID system and post the images?

Bottom line is you
DO need to retrofit HID projectors.
there I fixed yours.
in all cases a projector is required with HID's if you plan on not blinding people. most headlights are made to have a low and high setting (the accord is no different) that when the wattage is increased (from 45 low to 65 high) it lights up more of the headlight assembly. with an HID kit you will ALWAYS be lighting up the high beams area blinding everyone.
and if you don't see a difference in the link that you listed, you must be blind. the first image (w/o the projectors) is so random light pattern and yes the center is super bright, but its not very even. the second picture, the one WITH the projector is a very even light flow and a clear cut off (meaning no blinding other people).
I say once again, the only real way to install HID's, and not blind people, is with projectors (mainly factory projectors) and the best temperature of bulb to get is 4300k, 6000k is acceptable but anything beyond 6000 and you're losing light, anything under 4300k is a more yellow ting and again, you lose light.
