not sure from which thread you are talking about but from what I've glipsed it was said that chilton is a rehash of the helms manual, but with outdated material. haynes is better than chilton's because it's based off of a complete tear down and rebuild of the vehicle. Helms is the best. Having read all of that advice myself I still am hesitant to get the helms manual for my 01 accord v6. the repair manual for me is $70 plus I have to spend $40 for the V6 supplement because that's my engine. thata a total of $110, which is nothing to laugh about.
I just need to know basic stuff so hopefully I will just see if I can get away with buying just the Haynes manual which is $20.
just so you know my user manual that came with my used car said it was published by Helms Inc. I'm not quite sure what that means, whether Helms is a publisher for Honda, or what I am not sure
