just buy a GSR used shortblock..you can get one for like 300 bucks on any forum for sale threads. Bang you got a 1.8 instead of the 1.6 annnnd it takes like a day to do.
X2, even an LS block could get you into an LSVTEC for fairly cheap, GSR block would be better suited to high RPM's though.
