just run it under the head board to the exhisting wires in the center dome light that way they will come on when your car comes on... and as for the map lights.. you can just run those to a 12 volt power source too... try the always on positive wire for the maps... and the positive wire that comes on with door open for the other lights... that you want to come on with open door... most likely there are 3 wires under the exhisting dome light... positive for the on switch, positive for the door switch, and negative... hope that helps
