I think everyone's points so far are terrific. Just a general note on buying used cars ...

1. Check the spark plugs. Look for oddities such as white powder (sign of nitrous) or oil (bad piston rings, wall damage, etc).

2. Feel the edges of the painted panels. If there's a ridge, it's been resprayed. Factory paint is smooth along all edges and corners.
