Ok first of all I read alot and researched alot but just cant make a decision and would like some help.

Here is my situation:

I have an EK hatch and swaped in gsr brakes all around pw/ps/ac. I love that body style and its used for a DAILY COMMUTER (very important in my reasoning).

The Dilema:

I need a engine that will give me the following: MPG's, Torque/HP, cheap, easy to swap and I will Bar'd/Ref the motor into the car. The only one that i can come up with is an 99-01 LS motor. The benefits are a decent Torque/HP and cheap to get and takes regular unleaded.

Now before any one states why dont you get a B18C1, C5 or B16A2 or any other engine, keep in mind that i need a commuter car that will give me more HP/Torque at a cheap cost that I can Bar. I dont want to build a track or autoX vehicle. I thought hard and long but cannot come up with any other engines besides an LS motor. If anyone has another view on the topic please feel free to chime in. I am looking to keep all the pw/ps/ac so any help would be appreciated.
