Unless you live somewhere where water doesn't exist, most likely there's more rust than metal on your header. It'll take a lot of sanding and painting to make it look nice.
im not necessarily trying to make it look nice, I didn't think about the rust issue, that being said, silver isn't in the question as that will make it stand out more. I'll just paint it hi temp flat black to at least make it a uniform color, whaddayasay?
