Cat6 is a lot faster(10x by what I see, I can't remember the real number) and is rated from 550mbs, whereas cat5e is 350mbs.
I'm trying to find the differences between cat6 and cat6e but I can't find them.
difference between cat6 and cat5e is the number of twists per foot and shielding thickness (the plastic jacket, the shielding does not mean it's shielding from EMI) it's the number of added twists per foot that allows it to be certified for slightly higher theoretical through put
