Just buy some water conditioner and that should neutralize the pH to where you want it for your setup (freshwater, i assume).

well lit room (2 large windows at each end and 2 french doors leading to outside. The setup also has a florescent light.
i want to get some jack dempseys or convicts, i have read up on water temp and pH levels, now its just a matter of getting the water conditioned to a safe habitat for the fish
