Oh god, when I first played, I couldn't get the timing down. Supposedly your hammer turns red when it's a dead on shot ... but, that never works for me either.

With the hammer, you don't have to make direct contact with your opponent. If you can slam the head down infront of him ... tap his toes, he's dead.
