Hi everyone... I am just wondering... should I have a fuel light on my 2000 LX 4cyl?

I've been on empty for days... and when I filled up this afternoon it took 14.7 gallons to fill.

Do I just not have the "guts" to let it get low enough to turn on?

So the second question.. if I am supposed to have a light, when should it turn on?
