I see what your saying but most people aren't going to want to spend $400+ on a spray gun unless they use it all the time. I want to get the Sharpe Platinum to use for my basecoat and clear and use my cheap gun for all the different types of primer. The Sharpe is around $350 and I've heard its badass.
maybe a rental though? i am borrowing mine from my dad, but i have painted shat for years.
